About the Foundation

Our Mission

Founded in 2024, the Luan Mulliqi Foundation preserves and promotes the artistic heritage of one of Kosovo’s greatest sculptors while creating a vibrant platform for future generations of artists.


The Atelier

Nestled in Matiqan, Luan Mulliqi’s atelier is more than a studio, it’s a living monument to creativity. With a 200 m² workspace, state-of-the-art bronze casting technology, and a 30-acre sculpture-filled courtyard, it stands as a unique fusion of art, nature, and innovation.


Cultural Bridge

From Kosovo to the world, the Foundation fosters international artistic collaboration, educational programs, and large-scale exhibitions.

Foundation Launch Recap

On October 25, 2024, the legacy of Luan Mulliqi was officially honored through the launch of the Fondacioni Luan Mulliqi at his atelier in Matiqan. This landmark event gathered an extraordinary audience from the worlds of art, politics, and diplomacy.


Among the distinguished guests were Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti, several government ministers, and ambassadors from key partner countries, all of whom joined the Mulliqi family in celebrating the sculptor’s timeless impact on national and international culture.


Set against the striking backdrop of Mulliqi’s monumental works and illuminated studio, the evening marked not only a tribute to the past, but a bold step into the future. With powerful speeches, emotional moments, and a shared sense of purpose, the launch reaffirmed the Foundation’s mission to turn art into a lasting force for cultural connection and progress.

Visit of Lumir Abdixhiku

On November 2, 2024, Lumir Abdixhiku, leader of one of Kosovo’s most prominent political parties, visited the Luan Mulliqi Artistic Residence alongside his wife, Albina. Abdixhiku explored the atelier and monumental courtyard, reflecting on the enduring legacy of one of Kosovo’s greatest cultural figures.


In a heartfelt statement following the visit, Abdixhiku described the experience as deeply inspiring, standing before the powerful works of Luan Mulliqi and contemplating the impact of an artist who served as both a national symbol and a guide for future generations. He praised the Foundation’s role in preserving this legacy and ensuring that Mulliqi’s vision, values, and artistic passion live on.


He also emphasized the importance of giving art and culture a central role in Kosovo’s national identity and development, both through cultural recognition and infrastructure. The visit served as a meaningful affirmation of the Foundation’s mission, to be a lasting source of inspiration and pride for generations to come.

Drin Mulliqi

Chairman of the Board

Drin Mulliqi is the Founding Director of the Luan Mulliqi Foundation, created to safeguard and expand the artistic legacy of his father, sculptor Luan Mulliqi. He played a central role in developing the atelier in Matiqan, carrying forward a vision that turned years of family dedication into a cultural space open to artists and the public.


Alongside his work with the Foundation, Drin is CEO of Red Mill Agency, where he has nearly two decades of experience in international strategy, brand building, and creative innovation. His leadership bridges culture, business, and global networks, ensuring the Foundation grows as both a custodian of heritage and a platform for artistic exchange.

Frédérique Duversin

Cultural Advisor and Board Member

Frédérique Duversin is the Director of the Kosovo Cultural Center in Paris, a role she has held since 2006, where she has been central to promoting Kosovar art across Europe. She holds a doctorate in Literature and Foreign Civilizations from Université Paris 7 and has taught at the University of Prishtina. Her work as a translator of leading Albanian poets into French further reflects her dedication to cultural exchange.


A long-time friend and collaborator of sculptor Luan Mulliqi, she partnered with him on several exhibitions in France, including the 2015 presentation of Kosovo’s Neolithic statues at the Musée d’Archéologie Nationale, which today houses his sculpture Hyjnesha. As a Board Member, she brings both cultural expertise and personal commitment, advancing the Foundation’s mission to connect Kosovo’s artistic heritage with Europe and beyond.

Ilire Vinca

Actress, Professor & Board Member

Ilire Vinca is one of the most acclaimed actresses in Albanian theater and film, recognized for her performances in Zana (2019), The Marriage (2017), and Bloodlands (2017). With a career spanning decades, she is admired for her artistic integrity, emotional depth, and her view of acting as a form of “spiritual medicine.” Beyond the stage and screen, she serves as a professor at the University of Prishtina, mentoring the next generation of actors.


As a Board Member of the Luan Mulliqi Foundation, Ilire brings her dedication to cultural heritage and her belief in art’s transformative power, strengthening the Foundation’s mission to inspire dialogue and preserve legacy through creativity.

Burim Ejupi

Civil Society Leader & Board Member

Burim Ejupi is the Executive Director of the Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), with nearly two decades of leadership in civil society, elections, and democratic development in Kosovo. His career includes serving as Program Director at The Forum NGO, where he advanced civic engagement and institutional reform. Known for his strategic insight, he has been a consistent voice on transparency and policy innovation in Kosovo’s public discourse.


As a Board Member of the Foundation, Burim contributes his governance expertise and civic perspective, ensuring that the preservation of cultural heritage is matched with strong institutional practice and engagement across generations.

Uranik Begu

Innovation Leader & Board Member

Uranik Begu is the Executive Director of the Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK), where he has been instrumental in developing Kosovo’s startup and digital ecosystem. He also serves as Director for the CEE Region at Plug and Play Tech Center, one of the world’s leading innovation platforms. With more than two decades of experience, he has shaped initiatives at the intersection of creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship, both locally and internationally.


On the Foundation’s Board, Uranik brings expertise in innovation and global networking, helping position the Luan Mulliqi Foundation as a hub where cultural heritage meets forward-looking creativity.

Vlorian Molliqaj

Cultural Advisor & Board Member

Vlorian Molliqaj is the Regional Representative of PLAY International Western Balkans, leading programs that use sport as a tool for education, equality, and social inclusion. He previously served as Executive Director of Action for Mothers and Children, spearheading impactful public health initiatives across Kosovo. With a Master’s degree in Public Health Science and Health Economics from the University of Gothenburg, he has worked across civil society and policy institutions in Sweden and the Balkans.


As a Board Member, Vlorian contributes his experience in youth development and inclusive education, supporting the Foundation’s vision of connecting cultural legacy with creativity to inspire education, dialogue, and peace.
